Guys, it happened! Listopad has a new space at Mercedes Bien on Saturdays (12-6) and Sundays (12-5). The address is 2423 18th St. NW, Second Floor (next to Amsterdam Falafel). We're still planning pop-up events but we're thrilled to have an actual space for you to visit. We think that Mercedes' carefully curated vintage is the best in the city and are thrilled to be able to compliment her with our collection. ALSO, save the date - Saturday, September 27th -we are having a brunch party to kick off the new space and premiere our full collection of hand-picked Fall pieces!

Listopad is moving into the Mercedes Bien space! We are planning on moving our wares into Mercedes Bien Vintage in Adams Morgan in time for Fall! We are really excited to be sharing a weekend space with Ms. Mercedes, who consistently has some of the most desirable vintage in the city. With Smash and Meeps right down the street, Adams Morgan will indeed be a vintage lover's dream!

Marvin's "Tip Out"

The fashionable Sheldon at Marvin just sent us some information about a "Tip Out" that will be happening every 4th Monday. This month, it will be on the 19th. It sounds like an excellent way to have a leisurely Monday dinner (avoid weekend crowds, people), enjoy excellent food and drink, and help out local charities (new one each month). Be sure to mention "Tip Out" upon making your reservation. From Sheldon:

Monday, May 19, from 5:30 PM to 10:15 PM at Restaurant Marvin for this new project I started called "Tip Out". On this night I will be waiting tables and donating 100%of my tips to a selected charity. This month's charity is Pediatric Aids/HIV Care, Inc. http://www.pediatricaidshivcare.org/ Pediatric AIDS/HIV Care is a community based non-profit organization that works to preserve, assist and strengthen the well-being of children ages 5-18 infected and affected by HIV/AIDS in metropolitan Washington, DC...I would ultimately like to see this become a city-wide event and strengthen the impact of charitable donations on a more regular basis.

On a recent trip perusing Tabletop in Dupont, my buddy Kata got me obsessed with decorative tea towels. I am moving soon which means new apartment, new decor. Fashionable Sake

On my way home from work on Friday, I stumbled across this sassy, sparkling, bottle of Hou Hou Shu Sparkling Sake (by Marumoto Brewery, founded way back at the end of the Edo period) at Connecticut Avenue Liquors in Dupont Circle. In the aesthetic sense, I am a sucker for Sanrio, origami papers, and anything Asian and cute, so I let out of squeal and submitted to the purchase. Upon checkout, the store owner also let out her own squeal and told me to prepare to fall in love. Hou Hou Shu is a high-quality Junmai sake made with high quality, carefully selected rice only. It has the creaminess of yogurt and notes of banana and citrus notes while still managing to be crisp and refreshing. The 180 ML bottle is a little pricey at $9.99 but considering a syrupy uncomplex frappucino runs you close to the same cost, this is my choice for delicious summer pleasure. And when you are done, the bottle makes a great little vase.
