I think about food all the time because, well, I love food. And while I used to think watermelon was a watery blah fruit, since purchasing local melons I've found it to be crisp, syrupy and deeply sweet.

The Post just published a delightful article on melons, (I kinda hate canteloupe but I can get down with honeydew), so I just wanted to let you know that the best ones in DC are at the Mt. Pleasant Farmer's Market on Saturdays.

oh wow that sounds really good! usually i go to eastern market or dupont, but i'll have to make a stop there this weekend!
here's the location...and they also have the best baguettes!
Neighborhood: Mount Pleasant
Intersection of Mt. Pleasant and Kilbourne St
Washington, DC 20010
a lot calmer than dupont circle, and less crowded.
